Frustrated

Received a call saying I was due for an upgrade. The gentleman was helpful and friendly and advised on which upgrade would best suit me with my historical calls, data usage etc. Phone chosen and order placed.

Beside the frustration of an incorrect address and a week of calls to courier service and Vodacom to correct my address, I finally received my device.

Two weeks later I run out of airtime - confused I call Vodacom to be told my contract has been changed to a top-up even though I have had an open line contract for the past 14 plus years. This was not discussed or agreed to - our call was recorded for reference.

I now have no airtime and am required to return my device, wait to be notified the contract is cancelled, make contact with Vodacom in order to apply for a new upgrade.

Most inconvenient and ludicrous in this day and age.

Why was this not disclosed in the first place? Why am i not able to change the line from top-up to open line?

Thank you Vodacom for your response.

I have received a called from the company who 'sold' me my contact advising i was informed about the top up - my understanding of top up was clearly not the same.

They told me to contact Vodacom directly as i'd been told my phone would be collected however, this was by Vodacom on my call to them on 31 August and not by the company who sold me my contract.

I then called Vodacom again and was told they would look into this and revert.

Courier arrived yesterday to collect my phone.

This morning i receive an e-mail notifying me my phone cannot be collected as I'm past the 14 day cooling off period.

NOW MORE FRUSTRATED AND CONFUSED.

Where is my phone? What is happening with my contract? Why conflicting information? Who instructed that me phone be collected? Who sent the e-mail?

:-(
