From pillar to post

After my dad passed away, my mom went to Vodacom to apply for a transfer of debit order, AND a transfer of ownership. It has been nine weeks now, and nothing has been sorted out yet. On 23 December her number was disconnected for no apparent reason. We sat for an hour with a consultant today (05/01), who first phoned the legal department, who said they can't help us, we must call Customer Acquisitions. When we called Acquisitions they said they can't help because the account is with Legal, and the only way that can happen is if the account is 90 days in arrears - which is bull****, because the account has always been paid in full on a monthly basis. Acquisitions then said we must call Legal and ask them to put a note on the system that the account is paid in full. We then called Legal again and asked that they do as suggested by Acquisitions. They promised it will be sorted out in 2 hours and they will keep us updated. I have no hope though that it will be done and that they will keep their word.

Any suggestions as to what we can do to get this sorted out?
