"Free" Wi Fi Routers!

On 25 August, 2015 I received a call from "Vodacom". I put it in inverted commas because the call was actually from a company called BUY MONDO (Ph number ********** 666) saying that they were calling from Vodacom. The name of the agent was NISHA and the reference number was ********** 9. They were offering us two extra GB of data for R109,00 and TWO FREE Wi Fi routers. I was told that if I didn't want the routers I could give them away. The routers were duly delivered on the 28 August. They lay on my desk, unused and useless as far as I was concerned as the SIM cards could not be activated. I tried without success to contact someone at Vodacom who could help me and I eventually went to the Vodacom Customer Care shop in Pietermaritzburg on the 16 November. They told me that I had had two months in which I could have returned the routers and that there was a contract attached to each one for R109,00 a month! In the meantime I had cut the SIM cards in half and destroyed the routers. We now have two extra contracts for R109 a month! I was not told that I could return the routers if I didn't want them and that there would be contracts involved - I had no idea. On the 12 November (nearly 3 months later) I received a statement from Vodacom for R218,00 for the extra two GB of data. My husband and I are pensioners and cannot afford this extra expense. I have, on a number of occasions contacted the contract department of Vodacom and Buy Mondo and pleaded with them to cancel the contracts but because I no longer have the devices they refuse. Surely they can see that the data is not being used. During my last call to Buy Mondo on the 9 May when I spoke to Christine I asked them to listen to the recording of the conversation which I was told (rather lethargically) that they would do and they would get back to me. That was on the 9 May 2016. I am still waiting. I believe that I was totally miss-informed and actually not told the truth. I would be greatful of your assistance. Thank you.
