********** VODACOM contract being opened in my name.

On the 14.07.2017 i recieved a notivication on my phone that two contracts were debited from my bank account by vodacom. I was taken a back cause i never had a contract or opened one vodacom ever. First thing i did was go to the bank(Standard Bank) and asked them wot was going on with my account and they could not assist me, but instead told me they can reverse the debit and stop the debit and charged me for the transaction. What even upset me more is that they told me if that person sould use a diferent refference number then they would be able to open another contract in my name.

After the bank i went to the nearest vodacom branch were the consultant was very helpful as he had experienced such a case before. He then told me this is identity theft and i sould inform vodacom of what is going on. He then put me through to the customer service where we got the details of the location as to where the contract was taken out. To my surprise i found out that it was at a shop in East Rand Johannesburg, a place i have never been to and i have lived my entire life in Cape Town. I reported this infomation back to vodacom and told them there were employees at the store taht was involed, but to my dissapointed they weren't much interrested in my story and said i much follow the process and have to wait two working weeks and by that time i will have to pay the contract and will get a bad credit record.

All i want is for vodacom to treat this as a urgent matter so that i can clear my name and go on with my life.
