In 2014 i took out a contract with Vodacom which was a laptop and modern and I was getting 1 gig of data and I was paying R289 monthly.
Before the contract ended I went to Vodacom to check how far I am to upgrade and I was told in two months to come.
At the end of the month I was suprised to see R800 diducted from my account by Vodacom and I reversed the payment. Few days after reversal I received a call from Vodacom wanting to know why I reversed the payment and I told them that this is not the payment we agreed upon. I when I was told that I upgraded my account and took iPhone 6. I was suprised buy that information and told the consultant that I did not do an upgrade and I did not receive the phone they were talking about.
I was advised to send a sworn affidavit from the police stating that I did not upgrade my contract and also forward my certified copy of Id aswell as three signatures and they will investigate. They told me to phone after 10 working days which I did and the told they are still investigating. I phoned again and I was told that they can confirm that that the was fradulent upgrade on my account. I was advised to log a call sothat they can pass credit and close the account and I did as I was advised.
I made followup to check the progress and it took time be be resolved. Each time I phoned I was given a different reference numbers and when quoting it on my next call it doesn't show anything and I had to relate my story evertime I phoned.
On 31 December 2017 after many calls I was told that the account has been closed. In mid 2018 I received sms that my account is overdue and will be handed over to collection. I then phoned Vodacom again because I was told that the account had been closed and I was told that only the handset was paid for and not the airtime. I disputed the airtime because I never receive it and I was told again to log a call that I'm disputing the airtime, after that I received calls from MBD that they've been instructed by Vodacom to collect the money that I'm owing them.
I phoned Vodacom customer care to find out what was going on and they told me that they cannot help me because my account has been handed over to MBD.
This has affected me somuch because I was using internet for my studies and since my account was blocked I went to Mtn to open a new account and I was told that Vodacom has blacklisted me.
What Vodacom is doing to me is unfair because with their investigation they confirmed that my account was fradulentl upgraded but they go on an blacklist me and also want me to pay for something I don't know.
Best regards,
