********** subscriptions on my invoice, April 2017. Continues into May 2017.

In April 2017, I was incorrectly billed for R1515.08 for "Content Services". These are services to which I never subscribed. I brought the matter to the attention of Vodacom on the 6th of May 2017 and Vodacom's customer care consultant admitted to me that Vodacom are aware of the ***** taking place, but do not know how to prevent it from occurring. I was surprised to hear this. Yet, I was assured it would be rectified as far as my account went. And TODAY Vodacom send me an invoice with the ********** R1515.08 NOT REMOVED... Talk about a non-care attitude from Vodacom. Thanks guys for your poor attitude and ability to ***** money from me. To totally make matters worse, this morning I call Vodacom and I am “accused” of accessing the Internet at 9:00am this morning, and subscribing to even more subscription services. This accusation by the call centre agent. I told the agent that I was flying to Cpt this morning from 8:00 am to 10:00 and I wanted to know how exactly I could have been on the internet with my cell-phone during this time since I was 10km up in the sky and Kulula.com do not have connectivity.

I also now requested that content services be blocked on my number to protect me being de*****ed by Vodacom. After all Vodacom ultimately are the only ones taking money from my account and then I suppose paying these so-called content service providers. NO doubt, Vodacom take a cut for this service as well, making them conspirators in my opinion to such *****. I will now write to the newspaper, and share my experience on social media. This is nonsense and I am furious.

I remain perplxed at the non care attitude from vodacom - I have never felt so abused by a company ever. I have never felt more helpless either. The only correspondance received regarding the ***** committed on my account by Vodacom's so called Content Prpviders was a refund of R7. I am in a state of shock.
Is Vodacom trying to alienate its customers on purpose? I have been *****ulenly billed over R1500 during April 2017 and these Cpontent providers will refund me with R7? Vodacom leave me know option but to cancel the debit order, and tranfer only what I truly owe Vodacom for April & then May 2017. I am getting no joy calling the call centre because all i get is lip service.

I tried calling the vodacom help centre now at 4:20pm on the 16 May 2017. I got put on hold until the questions started asking to rate service. 15 mins later the call emds with nothing resolved. WHEN WILL SOMEONE HELP ME AT VODACOM. WHEN?

Let’s recap: Vodacom continue to evade responsibility for the ***** they have admitted to being aware of vis-à-vis WASP (Content Services). Futher, Vodacom billed me for R1329.02 (April 207) and R234.95 (May 2017) for WASP services I never subscribed to. I have an affidavit to this effect as well as proof that I was on a Kulula.com flight at the time when I was accused of subscribing to some of these WASPs (by Vodacom). Vodacom call centre agent/s admitted to me that Vodacom do not know how these websites are subscribing people who have not double clicked confirming they want to subscribe.
What is amazing is that Vodacom “can't” do the refund, but they “100% able” to REMOVE MONEY FROM their CLIENTS, ON BEHALF OF THE ********** WASP VIA THEIR INVOICING EACH MONTH.
After doing internet research, one quickly notes that WASP ***** has been going on for years and yet the public are powerless to stop it. Vodacom will clearly and happily pair with ************ content service providers because Vodacom are making millions by turning a blind eye to the ***** committed by these affiliate companies every month. Below is the latest reply from Vodacom BASICALLY IMPLYING how they are shying away from any mandate to deal with the ***** they are complicit in.
“Dear Mr Conrad Strehlau, The WASP services are not activated by Vodacom it is activated from the device as it is a 3rd party service. The refund has to be done by the WASP provider as the fees charged are paied directly to them. You can log a complaint on the link previously provided requesting a refund. Regards, Cassandra”
If the WASP service are a 3rd party, then let the 3rd party bill clients for the content they provide. Hence I say that VODACOM are complicit in the ***** because financially it is of serious benefit to them.
The glaring problem with the above behaviour is one of unacceptable corporate governance. As a Director in my own manufacturing business, if I was to be made aware that a 3rd party, ANY 3rd party, is committing ***** DIRECTLY effecting my clients, more especially on invoices I give them in my Company name, then I must immediately take corrective action and eliminate and prevent continuation of ***** or stand the risk of ******** charges. This is grade 1 corporate governance. Moreover as a Director I must make good for losses encountered by my customers at my expense. This again is corporate governance 101.
However after complaining repeatedly on Hellopeter and via the Vodacom call centre, Vodacom simply sends me a sms which reads,
“Dear Customer, please be advised that you have been successfully unsubscribed from content services. The WASP Company has approved a FULL refund. Should you not be credited and you wish to lay a formal complaint please contact the regulatory, WASP, on ********** 710 (charged) or ********** Vodacom can’t lodge an official complaint on your behalf.”
Notwithstanding the above SMS, three WASP companies (Downlou, Whatsmob, NowCeleb) sent me their own emails stating they will refund me R7.00 each. This is a far cry from R1329.02 or R234.95. Is this a Leon Schuster prank? Their emails are shown below and they are obviously all the same company;

I am of the strongest professional opinion that Vodacom are not practicing acceptable corporate governance around this ***** which they are very evidently complicit in. Moreover I believe the Vodacom directors should be immediately investigated and the matter be brought to the relevant courts. When will the Vodacom thievery stop?
