********** IT company

This company has de*****ed me out of R3500. They claimed to have been sent to me by Vumatel to investigate my slow fibre service.

Sipho Mahlangu, Technical Director (according to his card) came to my premises and claimed that I needed to upgrade the Vodacom router that was supp**** when I signed up with Vodacom. He said that I needed to pay R3500 for a better router. I paid him and after lots of chasing he eventually came to install it. I had been told by Vodacom that they do not allow their routers to be changed but he claimed that he had the authority to do so. However when he came to install the router it became clear that he did not know what he was talking about and could not get it to work.

He promised to refund the R3500 and asked that I complete a form for processing by an automated system that would take 7 to 14 days.

6 weeks later I do not have my money and now he does not answer the 2 cell phone numbers listed on his business card. Sharon, his supposed admin clerk, has now also stopped answering her phone.

I have been trying for days to get Vodacom Fibre to look into this matter because my initial complaint regarding slow internet had been made with Vodacom Fibre. I have tried dealing directly with Vumatel on this matter but they have been completely unhelpful and claim to know nothing about the company called WI-FI Networking Specialist who have now run off with my money.

I have had a firm or attorneys investigate WI-FI and networking Specialists (Pty) Ltd. It turns out that this company does not exist and the ID number for Mr Sipho Mahalngu this is printed on his job card is not valid. It is my understanding that he was sent here by Vumatel, but Vumatel will not take any responsibility for this and claim to know nothing about him,

2 days later and no one from Vodacom have contacted me ... I had hoped that I might get a better response by going onto Hello Peter than I get from the call centres, but no such luck. It amazes me how big corporations like Vodacom and Vumatel don't give a damn about their customers!

I must clarify that Vodacom are my fibre ISP and my initial complaint about my useless fibre connection would have been made to them (most of the time my 50mbps line gives me less that 1mbps download speed). It was then referred by them to Vumatel who in turn sent out the ********** Sipho Mahalngu (if that is even his real name). This article initially gives the impression that Vodacom are ********** because part of my initial article has been suppressed - please note that I am in no way saying this.
