In September I went to a Vodacom strore to upgrade my cell phone contract , only to discover that I have another contract on my name. I called the call centre to query the contract and was told that this contract was taken by a company called comit technology. Vodacom call centre gave me the number for comit technology. Comit technology said that they have no records of the contract but vodacom insists that it was taken by comit technology. We further asked the call centre to cancel the contract and refund me the monies that was paid by me. I was told that this will be done and it wasn't. I recently went back to finally upgrade the contract only to find out that the *****elant contract was not cancelled and i am still paying for the contract. I was then told to call the call centre (the one that I called numerous ties previously) AGAIN to cancel the *****alent contract. I was also asked to get an affidavit to compare signatures (WHAT SIGNATURES ARE YOU COMPARING IF IT I DIDN'T SIGN ANYTHING AND IT WAS TAKEN BY A CALL CENTRE)and bank statement. WHY DO I NEED A BANK STATEMNT TO DO A CANCELLATION? I AM NOT TAKING ANOTHER CONTRACT. Please can Vodacom sort this urgentl. I am seriously thinking of contacting the POPI regulator because I think that Vodcom disclosed my personal details to a third part without my consent. My no starts with an "084" which is normally associated with Cell C where I ported my number from Cell C to Vodacom. My no starts with a "084" which is normally associated with Cell C where I ported my number from Cell C to Vodacom. The Vodacom call centre told me that maybe the company comit technology may have used random numbers to assign contracts, and i think that Vodacom disclosed my details because a person would not be able to make a random guess that an "084" number is a Vodacom number. I would appreciate if someone could rectify this as soon as possible before i have to resort to the POPI regulator sorting this out form me
