********** cancellation of Vodacom contract.

On the morning of 27 May 2017 my cellphone had no service.

I went to a Vodacom 4 u branch. There I was told that my sim card was faulty, which I knew could not be since I never remove my sim from my cellphone. I was advised to do a sim swop which I agreed to. While doing the sim swop I was informed that my contract had been cancelled without my permission. After numerous calls from within the branch it could not be verified how the cancellation had occurred. I was given a pay as u go sim with a data bundle of 250MB and the manager told me that he would have the contract re-instated and give me a call on the following Monday (29/5).

On Monday, 29 May I noticed that my cellphone number had been used to make an attempt at withdrawing a large sum of money from my bank account. Fortunately I was able to sort his out with Nedbank and the transfer did not go through.

By Wednesday, 31 May I still had not heard anything from anyone at Vodacom, I tried on numerous occasions to reach the manager who had promised to assist me, left quite a few messages, sent emails and even whatsapp messages. I eventually contacted the Customer Care line only to be told that nothing had been done and once again I was told that it would take 3 days to resolve.

On Tuesday, 7 June 2017 only to tell me that nothing had been sorted out and that he would do his utmost to assist.

On Friday, 9 June 2017 I again called the Customer Service number and was told the matter had been handed over to the forensic analysis department.

After still not being contacted by Vodacom I sent an email to both their customer care and forensic division of 12 June 2017. On the 13th of June the manager contacted me and said that I could go in to the Vodacom 4 u branch and do a sim swop and the matter would be resolved.

I went into the branch on 14 June 2017 did the sim swop, for which I had to pay and was told that the number would be active within 24 hours.

By 17 June the number was still not active and is still not active to date.

My debit order for the contract was deducted from my bank account and my account with Vodacom is now showing an outstanding balance of over R8000-00.

In the meantime I have to go to a vendor to buy airtime and/or data as I cannot do so with internet banking as my cellphone number is required to complete the transactions.

I only buy small amounts at a time as I am **** to by Vodacom with a promise of 2 to 3 days each time I contact them.
