********** Behavior by Vodacom? - Trying to Cancel Subscription

I've been a subscriber to Vodacom for 10 years (spending over R1000 per month), and as I am leaving the country I wanted to cancel my subscription (there was no cellphone device attached to my contract).

1. I first went to a Vodacom store. Told I need to call their cancellation number. 2. Called the number a a few weeks ago (mid November or so).

The Vodacom call center consultant told me I couldn't cancel mid-month, or if I did it wouldn't work, and I would need to cancel again on the 1st of December for December. So advised me not to cancel in November and rather call again in the the first week of December. I was really confused, and almost did not cancel.

Eventually I said I would take my chances and cancel in November as I wanted a confirmation receipt of the call. Which I did actually get.

3. The call ended but I later got a call from another different Vodacom agent, warning I would lose my telephone number - that it would be recycled - if I did not start a new contract immediately.

Terrible. This is ********** behavior?
