********** and ***********
New fibre was installed in our area recently. Only ISP's going from door-to-door was Vodacom. Which I thought was good in comparison to other ISP's. Little did I know how ********** my application turned out to be. On 30 September a fibre sales agent, Stephen Mukwemba, came past and promoted Vodacom again. This time however there was a price change. R649 for a 20/20 plus a UPS, plus a month free. I asked him how sure is he this is true and this better not be a gimmick and he said no, its not. He showed me the application form and the actual prices were scratched through. He wrote on the page 20/20 for R649. I signed and provided the necessary details. On Tuesday, 6 October I received a Sales Order saying all is approved. So I decided to phone and find out how does it work about the router and installation. While on the phone I asked about the package and price, cos I never received anything again from them asking if I am really interested in accepting the terms and conditions, etc. Guess what. The package is right (20/20) but at R899. I informed them this is incorrect and they advised me it is right and that is what is on the application form. Long story short. I asked them to email me the application form. The first page (which was scratched through and written on) has been changed. THIS IS *****. I asked them to get hold of the sales agent, Stephen. No can do. I logged a query on the Wednesday or Thursday and guess what, on Monday, 12 October nobody has assisted me as yet cos the query went to a wrong department. Again I asked if someone can look up Stephen and find out what is going on. This is wrong. I then logged a cancellation query which apparently takes 48 hours. Guess what, Wednesday 14 October nobody phoned or followed up. But yet, the router arrived in the meantime, which I sent back as I am not accepting something I have not signed up for. Also on Monday, 14 October, I finally managed to track down Stephen myself via Facebook/LinkedIn. Sent him and email and you know what he tells me. The promotion I signed up for on the 30th , ended the 30th, and my application was processed in October, therefore I do not qualify for the special price, but I must not worry, he will sort it out. Today, Wednesday, 14 October, he is still trying to sort out the issue. I am not even sure if HelloPeter will get a response from Vodacom, but I want to make public aware of ********** door-to-door sales people and then the incompetence of one of the largest Cellular Service Providers to assist a client.
