*****ULANT ACTIVITY OF DOOR-TO-DOOR SALES AGENT - CHANGING/REPLACING 1ST PAGE OF MY APPLICATION TO MORE EXPENSIVE CONTRACT!

On the 28th of November a Door-to-door sales agent came by my home to sell us a 'Black Friday Fibre Package Deal'. The application form also stated that the deal ended on that day - 28 November 2022. The agent explained the following options to me on the Vumatel 100/100Mbps option of R499 per month. Should I take a month-to-month contract, I will get one month free and then pay R499 per month, should I take 12 months contract, I will get 2 motnhs free and then pay R499 per month, and should I take 24 months contract I will get the first 3 months free and the only start paying the R499 per month. I explained I would like to take the month-to-month option as I recently completed a 24 months contract from my current provider so I already have routers etc... I then completed the application form as such, for the month-to-month option @R499 per month for a 100/100Mbps.

On the 5th of December I receive an email with my order details and what to do next, this is also the same day the router was delivered. I immediately noted a discrepancy on the order, that the order stated different contract details than that that I app**** for on the application form. I called the call centre, the support lady informed me my application was for a 24 month contract on 50/50Mbps at R699 per month AND that my application was made on the 1st of December. I explained to her this is completely incorrect a I know for a fact I app**** on the 28th of November and that the form I completed also stated that the special ends on that day. I went ahead and requested copies of the application form I completed, dated and signed. the lady sent it to me via email.

To my shock the FIRST PAGE of the application form was a completely different form, completed by someone else, in a different hand writing and also with a different special end date of the 6th of December... I immediately informed the lady that this first page is not the page I completed, it is NOT MY HANDWRITING (which can be confirmed when you look at the rest of the document) and is also not the same form I completed, which stated on the first page (that has now been replaced with a new first page) that the special ended that day the 28sth of November. On the rest of the document you can see my hand writing and also that I dated the document on the 28th of November, the sales agent ALSO dated the document the 28th of November.

Furthermore, the agent took it upon himself to write in a random work number for me on page two, where you can also see it is his hand writing and not mine. I explained to the support agent on the phone that this is ********** activity on my name, which I will not allow.

I immediately requested she (the support lady on call with me) cancel the contract completely as I am not interested in doing business with anyone or any company who is involved in ********** activity on a clients name.

The lady logged the cancelation and logged a request to pick up the router that I received on that day. I have the call reference number. I also have the sales agents details that decided to take part in ********** activity on my name.

I am in absolute shock at how far the door-to-door sales agent is willing to go to get extra commission (which he very politely explained to me he gets as payment for the contract he gets signed). For a sales agent to take part in ******* activity, changing application forms on a clients name is absolutely not acceptable. Futhermore, it was not even picked up by Vodacom that the first page vs page 2-5 are different application forms!

I have completely lost my faith in Vodacom as provider through this. I am also considering going to the police station with all the details to lay a case of ***** today.

It was clear that this agent decided to replace the first page of my application with a different first page and completed different contract terms.
