********** who do not care about their customers

Last year I opened a new business account with Vodacom as a sole proprietor - their maximum package available, which costs me just over R2,000 per month. As I have recently changed to a Pty Ltd I needed to change all 3 of my cell phone packages to the business account (a total spend of just over R8 k per month). On phoning the Vodacom call centre and spending 2 hours of my life being pushed from pillar to post from one unfriendly agent to another, I was informed that I could not access one of my contracts' as it wasn't in my name!!! Somehow MIRACULOUSLY it has been changed to an Angolan woman's name - the number still resides with me and I pay a direct debit every month, but unfortunately mam you may not do anything on the account.

Going back over the invoices this happened in December - I received 2 invoices. One for R0 in my name and one for this new woman with the cost of the package. How does this even happen? What level of incompetence does one need to stoop to in order to get that one right.

However this is not the worst part... On the behest of the rude and unhelpful call centre I had to go into a branch, which I duely did. I went to Hout Bay branch and was met by equally rude and unhelpful staff. This was 9 days ago... Since then I have heard exactly nothing. No-th-ing. No feedback, no sorry, I understand how frustrating this must be. NOTHING!! So yesterday I sent an email chasing this up only to get a snotty, condesending email back this morning from the manager telling me: "as we explained to you we need to send the info to the help desk to assist us with the problem that was done and they are in the proses of fixing it for as. as sooon as the first 1 is done the we can do the rest." (Perhaps in addition to customer service training, he should also go on a training programme in how to write business emails?).

Vodacom I train people in customer service and I will give you this advice for free - get your staff to at least pretend that they care! This situation is wholly, utterly and completely unacceptable and not one of the people I have dealt with showed any form of empathy or care for my plight.

But I guess you don't have to, because once one is locked into a contract, you make it impossible to get out and we just have to endure poor service...
