*****: Upgrade of existing Cellphone Contract that should not have Happened!!!!!!!!!!

Reference number is EC-1RV7-2IZ0IB - recieved 11/02/2019 Reference number is EC-1RV7-2IZZAJ - recieved 11/02/2019 Reference number is EC-1RV4-189FCV - recieved 08/02/2019

I Qaasim Charles reside and work in Western Cape in Cape Town. On the 13th December 2018 my cellphone contract got upgraded at the Highveld Mall Vodacom Branch in MPumalanga!!!! I discovered this when my bank account was Debited by an 3x more than the actual debit amount. I inquired this 02/02/2019 at the Vodacom Branch at Promenade mall. I followed all the steps they instructed me to do which is police affidavit with 3 signatures and my id copy. This i gave them on the same day 02/02/2019. When I inquired for a reference number,it turned out that the staff did not send the ***** Dispute!!!! I then sent the dispute myself on 08/02/2019 due to there incompetence.

Due to my disappointment I contacted the Highveld Mall in Mpumalanga (013) ********** and spoke to Barbara Vanwyngaard (Assistant Manager) and asked her to email a scanned copy of the signed contract upgrade. I recieved this on 09/02/2019. The documents clearly shows a *****ulant copy of ID Book with a picture of a man who is clearly not me. Also the signature looks nothing like my signature!!!!

Why would it take Vodacom 7 to 14days to investigate my ***** Dispute when I was able to obtain the *****ulant infomation within 1day!! I cannot believe how weak the security is within the Vodacom system!! My problem is that Vodacom has copies of my original contract and ID and signature. They where oblivious with regard to verifying the documents internally before awarding the contract!! Now there is some random person walking out there with a brand new HUAWEI MATE 20 PRO TWILIGHT cellphone!

I wish there was a -5 star that I could click. Now I am sitting here and waiting on Vodacom to take there own sweet time to reverse the contract and to return my money to me!! This really set me back. Citizens of South Africa do not do contracts with Vodacom because I assure you your personal information is not safe!!!!

I am waiting 2 more days then next stop is Ombudsman!!!

The ********** transaction was corrected quickly and within the 7 to14 day investigation period. I am pleased to report that the Vodacom ***** Department has kept me in the loop during the duration of the investigation and has restored my faith in the company and staff. I highly recommend that Vodacom include bio-metric systems and even photo ID's as part of the contractual agreement so that future ********** transaction cannot occur. Kind Regards Qaasim Charles
