***** Reported but Vodacom approved another contract 4 days after ***** was detected and reported
On 16th August 2021 an agent of Vodacom called me to confirm and arrange the delivery address for a cellphone contract i had supposedly taken. I told the agent i did not apply for any contract and out of curiosity i asked what is the delivery address they have , she told me it was in Orange farm and it was for a Huawei P20. I told her i was living in Durban , never lived in orange farm and don't know anyone there. I asked how could a contract be approved without all the FICA documentation ? she said it was done online unfortunately there is no way to catch it. and she also added that she will cancel it because it was pending delivery. The same day I spoke to the social media team and raised the same issue , later on an agent confirmed to me that the contract was cancelled. The next day i reported my ID with the SA ***** Prevention Service and got the letter that will be a pre-requisite for any new contract. To my surprise, on the 31st august i get an sms from the bank and a debit order went off my account with Vodacom in reference. I contacted the social media team again and told them : You told me this contract was cancelled can you explain to me the debit order ? The agent told me : there is a contract that was approved on the 20th , she gave me all the details : contract number , sales order number and the time of approval and this was already delivered . I asked : how come 4 days after i have reported a ***** to you guys and specifically told you that the application was ********** , yet you still approve the contract ? The question is was my ID number not flagged as possible ***** 4 days prior when i reported it to you ? also how do you approve a contract without documents verification or even calling me ? The agent told me : it probably because we have your details in the system . Now this got interesting because the last time I took a Vodacom contract was in 2015, and it was using my passport , which by the way would have expired in 2016. so what details do you have in the system to approve the contract after i have reported a ***** to you ? secondly , before doing any contract there is credit check to be done , according to my credit report , Vodacom did not do any credit check , which if done with any of the big credit bureau , they would have found that my ID was flagged and was in SA ***** Prevention Service Database. This whole thing is such a shock. Now i have to go to police station write affidavits and send them to vodacom and i got one of those automated emails telling me that the lead time is 14 working days ???? doing calculations , it will be month end , in time for another debit order to go off my account for a contract that i reported as ***** before it was delivered , Vodacom told me they cancelled delivery and only to find out that 4 days later the contract went through and was delivered to the same address in orange farm. So Vodacom believed someone they did not see , but discarded by cry for help and my report on the ID. How on earth do you approve someone that was just denied a contract 4 days prior ? what changed that convinced you to approve it ? This is not the first time that i am getting poor service from Vodacom. the contract i had in 2015 ended in 2017, and naturally the number would become prepaid and i have been using it as such , 2 years later in 2019, i get another debit order on my account and when i query , they tell me that it was on contract . how do you convert a number from prepaid to contract without my knowledge ? and the worst part is that this contract was done on my passport which had expired and the permit in it. So clearly , as long as your details are in Vodacom's database they can do anything : sign you up for contract without FICA verifications or convert your prepraid number to contract just because there is an account number in the system that they can use a an debit order can go off from ? Are our info even safe ? how do you convert a prepaid number to contract for a foreign national without checking the validity of their passport or permit ?Luckily this one was solved at the time . But at the moment , I urge you to please look into the contract you have approved avec after ***** was detected and reported ... 14 working days is a hell long time and the ***** is using a phone that you gave him/her even after i reported the *****
So again , i would like to follow up on this matter and request again for a formal letter that says that the ********** contract was cancelled and i am not liable because i did inform Vodacom of the ***** when they called to confirm delivery but 5 days later Vodacom still went ahead and approve the same contract that was cancelled for ***** reason .
Someone from the account department told me that this was cancelled , but how on earth am i receiving an invoice ? and how do you allow someone to use Google Playstore content worth of 2500 in 1 month ?
Please your cooperation will he highly appreciated.
