***** on Vodacom account - Worst experience with Vodacom

Shocking service received from Vodacom.

In June 2018, we requested for an account (data package) to be closed. This was done in store at Vodacom in East Gate Mall. The shop assistant advised that the data package is out of the contract period and could be cancelled effective 30 June 2018. On the 1st Of July, the data contract (3G) with Vodacom was cancelled and we proceeded by using the cell phone number on the 3 G card as Pay As You Go. Everytime the data ran out, we bought additional data and we have proof of these transactions.

Out of the blue, we received an account from Vodacom to the amount of approx R13000. This was apparently outstanding on our account, but no one to date could give us proof of where this is coming from. All Vodacom says is that it is data, but if they look at the specific cellphone number of the data account the balance is zero. How do you explain this? We have been disputing this for a couple of months now, asking for proof by means of an itemised billing, but we are still waiting. In the interim, Vodacom handed over the account to legal.

We have spend many hours on the phone with Vodacom. My parents (Mr GG Roux) who is the account holder retired recently and this is the reason he can no longer use the contract. He is now being held accountable for an amount of R13000 that no one can explain! His monthly bill, including cell phone and data package was never more than R1000 per month.

We have tried numerous times to speak to someone more senior at Vodacom, but with no success.
