***** from Vodacom using my name

On the 9/04 I recieved a call from the vodacom call centre number upon answering no one spoke and immediately call was dropped I then received an sms regarding an online purchase I made and informing me that an agent will call me back later. This to my surprise was extremely alarming as I do not have any agreement with vodacom. I am cell c and I wanted to find out more. I called the call centre and after almost half an hour on the phone with the agent and requesting she check their systems to see what this was about I was informed that apparently there was an application for an I PHONE 11 in my name for R610 per month! I was shocked and I requested the details for this and I was not assisted the agent told me that I need to get an affidavit informing them that I did not apply for this phone and send my ID document along with it. I sent them an email about the whole story and and I got an auto reply email. I went to the police station for an affidavit again and the officer informed me that I need proof from vodacom regarding this deal in order for them to open up a case I can not just get an affidavit without it.

I emailed vodacom on the 16th and still got another auto reply. On the 18th again I recieved a call from the very same vodacom number and as soon as I answer the phone it gets cut off and I can't call the number back as it doesn't go through. I recived another sms regarding an "online purchase deal" that I supposedly made and an agent will call me back.

I requested they sort this matter out and since the 8th I have received no response from vodacom. I have sent emails and all I get is an auto reply.

I do understand that it's lockdown however is there is a ********** account opened on my name that I have no knowledge about it is a crime and it should be taken seriously. Vodacom is a big brand and to take cases of identity theft lightly is not professional or ethical in any manner.

I will not be spending another cent of my money calling vodacom on my cell and be placed on hold for almost half an hour only to beg the consultant to even log onto her system to check if there is anything on my name with vodacom. The agent was under the unpression that I was a vodacom customer and just told me that they will not debit money off my account if I didn't have any device delivered to me I kept telling her that I can not end this call until I have answers as I do not want any thing that will have an negative effect on my credit score or profile. Eventually she checked her system and told me.

I was at work during this apparent transaction and as I stated to her on the phone call I did not even have network to check my emails let alone do an online application for an i phone 11.

I will not be a victim of identity theft from vodacom. THIS BETTER BE SORTED OUT ASAP. I work in a bank and I have seen this happen to alot of clients and I will not be another example.

Whoever or whatever is happening there and if this is some kind of mellicious act in the company as someone calls me and intentionally drops the call as I answer the phone and if it was really legitimate someone would have called me back both times and not just called once, it's almost as if someone wanted it to be on record that they attempted to call me to finalize the deal to cover tracks. It better stop because this is innocent peoples lives you are playing with here.

I could loose the potential to buy a house on day because of this and I will not let it happen.

I expect feedback ASAP!
