***** BETWEEN VODACOM AND ABSA

Vodacom,

Case Nr 1- ********** **********

I lost coverage from your network on the 3rd of April 2017.

A simswap was done **********ly on my behalf. I DID NOT perform the simswap on the 3rd. How can Vodacom not take responsibility for the actions of their own employees? How can Vodacom admit that one of their own employee's log on details were compromised and not at least take the blame for my loss.

He admitted to me in his e-mail on the 5th of June 2017, that someone ********ly obtained the username & password of the relevant consultant. This information was utilised to ********ly manipulate the system and circumvent security processes to perform the sim swap on my behalf which I never agreed to.

Your Senior Forensic Investigator - Paul Mc Pherson.

"We can confirm that there are no documents nor call recordings for this SIM swaps. Further analysis done we have established that the SIM swap was unauthorised and therefore **********".

When I in fact I realized that I had no network coverage, I performed a sim swap myself on the 6th of April 2017. I actually thought because my phone fell as well, that is why I had no coverage.

Vodacom Festival Mall then requested me to pay for pre-mature cancellation. I refused for obvious reasons. NO-ONE informed me that a sim swap was also done on the 3rd of April 2017.

I was de*****ed of all my accounts in the bank. R54 000.

Your Senior Forensic Investigator - Paul Mc Pherson.

"It is apparent from our investigation at this point in time that in this incident, the unique username and password of the relevant consultant was utilised to ********ly manipulate the system and circumvent security processes to perform the sim swap. We have experienced multiple ways that ******** syndicates obtain and ********ly misuse unique username and passwords of consultants".

Your Senior Forensic Investigator - Paul Mc Pherson.

"Vodacom cannot accept liability for any potential or actual loss sustained as a result of the ********** activity".

Please tell me why not? If I have not authorized any simswaps on the 3rd, how can Vodacom not take any responsibility???

I have been a client with Vodacom for many years and have never missed a payment on my accounts.

This is really unfortunate and I expect a reply on how can we conclude this matter in a decent way.

Financially this resulted in a great loss.

Await your favorable reply.

Janine Roberts
