***** AT VODACOM!!! Vodacom

I write this with desperation as I do not know what more I can do.

My wife tragically passed away in August 2018.

In September we went to VODACOM Randburg Mall in an attempt to transfer her account into my name as she had a few different numbers on her account. We were told to come back at the end of September. We went back end of September, it had not been done. We also tried to transfer at Cresta Vodacom who also said they have escalated our query. We were then told to come back end of October. Again we went back to Randburg Mall and nothing had been done. The same happened for November and December.

Then in January we decided to go to Vodaworld in Midrand. We settled all of my wife’s numbers on her account. We were told that they can transfer the numbers except two of the numbers which had already been upgraded in December without my consent or knowledge (signature etc) by Randburg Mall. We then went back to Randburg Mall where they told us that one of their consultants had helped himself to our upgrade on both of the numbers from my deceased wife’s of 2 iPhones. He upgraded the two numbers and then transferred them to my name.

During and prior to this, this consultant who **********ly upgraded on my deceased wife’s account ran up my bill in the excess of R6000 each month. Which resulted in my account being soft blocked every month.

In January I had to go on pay as you go (even though I have been on my number since 1995) and my contract is up to date, I do not owe on my number. This has resulted as a loss of business revenue, as I conduct business from this number. The owner of Randburg Mall’s Vodacom acknowledged that the consultant had **********ly upgraded thee accounts and subsequently been let go.

We were then referred to the ***** department of Vodacom. Patrick from Vodacom ***** came to see me. He told me not to worry and that everything is under control. We were advised to get an affidavit signed at Randburg Police Station, which we did, and have a case number for. We emailed the affidavit on 18 February to Vodacom ***** and we received a return email saying that this case would be resolved in 7-14 working days.

I also called Patrick on his mobile phone after we had waited for 14 days and no feedback and he said everything was under control again. He would call me back the next day which he never did. I have tried calling him again on his mobile, and he does not answer my calls.

Around the 8th of March when we went back to follow up at Vodaworld I was referred to a senior consultant named Kuben who said that he would sort everything out. He did get my phone working again. However that evening my phone was again soft blocked that very evening. I have been in touch with him a few times. Which has had been able to lift the soft block, however it blocks after a few hours. I do also have my WhatsApp trail of these discussions with him. The last time I whatsapped him was 25 March. Which he rep**** that he is on leave, and that his colleagues are looking into my case.

I have sent a few emails to the ***** department with no reply. I then went to my bank to put a stop order on these debit orders that keep going off on all numbers in hope that someone from Vodacom will eventually contact me. I went to see if Vodacom Port Shepstone could assist, and they gave me a new escalated ***** department email address which they told me we can use as the standard ***** department had not gotten back to me. It was stated that I would receive feedback within 48 hours. I emailed them on 14 March. I have still not received any feedback.

I am currently between two numbers. My original contract number, which doesn’t work - i can only receive calls. And my pay as you go to make calls. Which is also a brand new number, that no one has.

The only correspondence I keep receiving from Vodacom are harassing sms’ requesting payment on my account, that they are aware, has an open ***** case.

I am open to all suggestions, if anyone has any advice as what I should do or if I should get in contact with the customers protection act. This is absolutely disgusting service received from Vodacom. I am a grieving widower and the last thing I ever needed is the incompetence of a service provider I have been with for over 20 years! I am appalled! Never mind the lack of interest, from all who has been involved.
