***** and deceit in the name of Vodacom!

CC to explain the situation. I will post an update if Vodacom bothers to respond to my letter to their Customer Care. But this is unacceptable. Telcos profiting out of deceit!

Dear Vodacom,

On Dec 18th, I was contacted by a lady claiming to be from Vodacom (but who is apparently a 3rd party vendor) asking if she could give me a Christmas gift of 2GB free data for being a loyal Vodacom customer. Because I get TOO MANY of such calls from Vodacom-affiliate telemarketers ALL THE TIME trying to sell me new plans or devices, I declined. The lady kept on insisting that it was just a gift, no strings attached. I eventually accepted as a gift, and confirmed again that I was not authorising any changes to my account or plan.

Now in January I receive a statement clearly showing that my plan was clearly upgraded to my cost to an additional 2GB plan, at an additional cost. I wish to: 1) DISPUTE and REVERSE this upgrade, 2) DISPUTE and REVERSE the charges, and also to 3) REGISTER A COMPLAINT about the ***** and deceit that is being conducted under Vodacom’s name.

I need all of these to be actioned and advised please. These are the kinds of practices that are giving telcos a bad name, and I hope that Vodacom will take it seriously.
