*****

On Sunday 25 April I received an sms to say my data was depleted. Monday my phone would't work so I phoned vodacom. To make a long story short by Tuesday it was discovered that an extra sim card has been added to my contract in another province and that within 3 days my account was a whopping R45 000.00. Therefore my service was suspended. This was now transferred to the ***** division and there was absolutely nothing I could do but to sit and wait. I had to buy a pay as you go sim to be able to get by. On Wednesday 4 May I phoned and Pheniswa said she can see on the system that they will be phoning me that day, She promised to phone me at 13:00 to hear if I did receive a call. I did not receive any of those promised calls. On Thursday 12 May I went to the local vodacom shop and demanded assistance. Werner helped to phone the ***** department and they said the matter was resolved. My phone was still not working. They said we should contact another department. We did. The lady I spoke to promised my phone would be working within two hours max. By Friday morning it was still not working. On Friday I went back to our local branch and asked again for help. The lady phoned me back within an hour to say it should be working soon. By 12;30 I was sorted. Then I went on the interned to do some reconciliation on my bank account...... R45 000.00 had been deducted by vodacom! I rushed back to the shop, yes again.. to be told by the accounts department that they can see there was ***** and the money will be paid back but they cannot say how much and when. Probably within the next 7 to 14 days. I don't know many people that can get by without that much money. And I would like to ask? Will I have to pay my contract for this month, I was not able to use it. If the debit order didn't go through who would be liable for the bank costs? Will vodacom pay me interest for the money taken from my account? I presume not as the loyal customer I must just be grateful if they give my money back. Even though their system allowed this kind of thing to happen??? I really don't know anymore. This has been the most frustrating weeks in a long time.
