*****

On the 21st of March I received an sms from Vodacom advising me that I have requested a sim swap and that shoud it not be me I must call them, soon after receiving this sms I called Vodacom not to do a swim swap as I have NOT requested it. 4 hours later I realized that my phone was not connecting to the network and I called Vodacom and they advised me that my phone number does not belong to me anymore as as sim swap has been done. They told me they will not be able to give me my number back until I go to the Vodacom shop with an ID book. It took several phone calls to get assisted on this and I only got my number back the following day late morning. Vodacom then told me that the person who had my number accessed my cellphone banking. When I checked my bank balance I found out that two transactions of a total of R2 000.00 were done. I reported this to Vodacom on the 22nd of March and they promised me that they will do an investigation and until today I have not heard from them after numerous phone calls to them they still have not done anything about this. When I call their call centre there is never a report regarding this incident so I have to explain myself all the time.
