Four Days, 4 Agents, Two Escalations and Still No WiFi

For the last 4 days I have been struggling to get my WiFi activated, and the experience has been beyond frustrating.

The first agent I spoke to insisted the issue was because I “owed” R3.75. R3.75!!!???

The second agent then confirmed that was incorrect and explained that I had been sent a duplicate invoice with two different amounts hence the R3.75 confusion. She understood the situation, but said she couldn’t see the activation password on her side and escalated it to the technical department, advising it would take 24–48 hours.

We called again. The third agent kept us on the phone for over an hour unplugging the router, plugging it back in, pressing reset buttons, repeatedly asking about the lights. For over an hour.

Today, someone from the technical department finally called…...only to make us repeat the exact same troubleshooting steps for another hour. She was polite and understanding, so this isn’t about her. It’s about the system.

I have never not had some kind of issue with Vodacom. There is always a situation billing errors, activation delays, duplicate invoices and somehow I end up paying the price, whether financially or by waiting days without service.

Every manager says the same thing: “It will take 24–48 hours.”

How many 24–48 hours does it take? Apparently enough to turn into days, if not weeks.

All I want is my WiFi activated. I work from home so it is a must not a maybe!
