Forfeiting of credit if you upgrade

I have upgraded a contract to a data bundle ***) during the month of August. There was a credit of R1900 on this contract and was informed that we can divert this to data. We bought data of R800 (20GIG). As from 1 September the new contract was for a 3GIG data bundle with Wi-Fi. On 20 September I have realized that the Wi-Fi was not working. Vodacom confirmed that the 20GIG data from the previous contract has expired.
Question 1: Where is my 3GIG data that I received on 1 September? It is impossible for me to use 23 GIG data from 20 August (approx.) to 20 September?
Question 2: What happened with the credit of R900 that was still on the old contract? Apparently I have forfeited this as I entered into a new contract. I don't want the money. I want the credit on my upgraded contract. It is not a new contract - it was an upgraded. I also did not make use of another Service Provider - it is still Vodacom. Vodacom have no right to decide what happen with my money. Please transfer the credit to the data bundle as a matter of urgency. Thank you
