Forced to pay for data I can't use

I'm sure Vodacom is breaking new slow speed records here in our town, Bonnievale in the Western Cape. With download speeds of 0.21Mbps and upload speeds of 0.06Mbps one is hardly able to use your phone. It's been this bad for months now with a lot of Bonnievalers complaining, but no improvements from Vodacom.

I'm going to MTN, who now offers LTE speeds here, and whose towers don't switch off during load shedding, the moment I'm out of my contract with Vodacom.

And the unfairest thing is I am forced to stay in my contract with Vodacom and have to pay hundreds of Rands every month for terrible service.

Vodacom has tried to contact me in regard to my post, but I missed both calls as I was busy teaching at that moment. They did leave a voicemail saying they are attending to the network issue and have escalated my query. Thank you for the feedback.

The network speed in Bonnievale improved a little bit on Friday 5 June but was still stuck on Edge. Since Monday 9 June the speed has been extremely slow again, with the maximum download speed I achieved at 1.2 Mbps. But usually it is even slower than that and I can hardly use my phone when on mobile data.
