FINAL Communication - COMPLAINT - *****ulent Debit order Account number I***

Good morning Vodacom

I still have not received a single phone call regarding this matter

This email serves as my final opportunity for rectification of this error.

If I do not receive a written response in 14 days, I will be contacting the ombudsman for telecommunications due to no assistance or feedback from Vodacom.

------------- To Vodacom

This serves as formal notice of a complaint to VODACOM regarding ******** practices in your business.

My Vodacom contract was cancelled in June 2025. I completed all applications, paid the final invoice sent to me, and the number was confirmed cancelled and moved to prepaid.

Vodacom has since June 2025 not sent ANY communication to me regarding any outstanding amounts via SMS or email.

On 24 January 2026, my Absa bank account was debited via a DEBIT ORDER instruction from Vodacom for R186.70.

I contacted your customer care and legal department who informed me there is now a shortfall of the July portion of the contract and that I must pay the R186.70. This after 6 months of no contact.

I requested a full statement to understand the validity of this outstanding amount and till date no one could send it to me.

Yesterday I received an SMS from Vodacom for the first time saying I now owe this amount. Interestingly, they never sent me any SMS in the 6 months after my contract ended.

It is extremely concerning to me that Vodacom has created an ******** and *****ulent debit order on a amount that no one has communicated to me and that no one can seem to provide a statement for.

Unauthorized debit orders are ******* in South Africa, as they require a valid, signed mandate. I did not mandate this.

I am extremely disappointed that a service provider as big as Vodacom can conduct themselves like this as business entity and operate in a completely ******* manner.

I do expect Vodacom to write off this amount as you have not yet provided me with a statement and you have failed to inform me of outstanding arrears. In addition, you created a *****ulent debit order that was never mandated by me.

I will take Vodacom to the ombudsman regarding this if a resolution is not found. I also want to know who will reimburse me for the debit order reveral fees thanks to Vodacom.
