Fibre constantly down

Vodacom – Fibre constantly down in estate, terrible onsite support, increased costs for Witpoortjie estate residents residents, I am extremely dissatisfied with both Vodacom and Vumatel regarding the fibre service in my estate (450 properties). Our fibre is constantly down. The service has become completely unreliable. Before my estate was integrated from Vodacom to Vumatel, issues were resolved remotely – quickly and efficiently. Now, whenever we log a fault, it is not fixed remotely. Instead, technicians are dispatched with a job card listing only 3 or 4 houses to attend to in an estate of 450 properties. The technicians arrive, fix a tiny handful of homes, and leave. The rest of the estate remains offline – sometimes for days or weeks. Then another small batch of houses gets attended to, while hundreds of paying customers are left with no service. Most residents work from home. We are being forced to spend extra money on mobile data just to do our jobs. That is unacceptable for a service we already pay for monthly. You integrated from Vodacom to Vumatel, but the service and support have only gotten worse. Remote fixes have been abandoned, and the onsite process is completely inadequate for an estate of this size. What I want to see: Restore remote troubleshooting capabilities so most issues don’t require a site visit. If technicians must come onsite, provide them with a job card that covers the whole estate or at least a meaningful portion – not just 3 or 4 houses out of 450. Communicate honestly with residents about known fibre issues in the estate. Compensate affected residents for data costs incurred due to prolonged outages. This is true madness and frustration. Vodacom and Vumatel – you are failing an entire community of work-from-home professionals. I will be sharing this complaint with ISPA and considering a complaint to ICASA if the pattern of poor service and inadequate technician dispatching continues.
