Fiber-To-Home: Installation not possible due to contractor oversight

We booked a Fibre installation through a Vodacom registered sales person.

Before we booked the Fibre installation, we visited the Vodacom website (Interactive coverage map) and discussed our house location with the authorised representative. Both stated our house has Fibre connectivity and is in the correct area for installation (NB - Vodacom is the only Fibre provider in our housing estate).

When the installation team arrived today, they discovered that the manhole that services 5-8 houses in the corner of our estate has NO fibre cabling and NO fibre box. The estate manager and contractor that installed the cabling and boxes in the manholes provided the plans for how the Fibre should have been installed after the team discovered the empty manhole. This manhole should service our house and another 5-7 houses according to the contractor that came to install our Fibre this morning.

In anticipation for the Fibre installation, we have cancelled my wife's wireless internet with Vodacom and taken leave for the day for the installation teams to install the Fibre, making this discovery somewhat of a nuisance, and not the installation teams fault at all.

How is it possible that an entire estate's work has been signed off without this corner (If I am assuming our section is the only section that doesn't have the cabling) if the approved and final plans confirms that this manhole should have been set up.

The contractor left without any contact details or a plan of action for when we can expect this portion to be serviced nor when we can expect an installation pending the above fix.

I'd appreciate if Vodacom can intervene and investigate as soon as possible - we will now potentially have to reopen another wireless contract with a service provider until this is fixed, which is a burden.
