Feel ****ed

I went onto the Vodapay app as a matter of interest to see what insurance on my device would cost. I had to enter the IMEI number of my phone, from this the make and model popped up which I confirmed and a quote of R255 per month was given of which I could accept or decline. As it was around R30 cheeper than what I was paying on my Household policy, I accepted. Now months later I lost my phone and went into the store to submit a claim only to be advised that I would have to pay an excess plus a betterment amount of R4600 as I am over insured and the model I insured is no longer available. Vodacom gave me the cover amount and monthly premium amount from my IMEI number. They insured me for a replacement value up to R18 999 and the replacement value is only R10999. I then spoke to Mpho Moso from Vodacom, who has zero Customer Care skills and was told by him that I *****ulently insured my phone as it was bought in 2021 and it is ******* to insure a device that is older than 30 days - again I emphasise that I entered the phones IMEI number and Vodacom sent me the quote. Vodacom Insurance is a *****ulent business and I will be reporting them to the Insurance Ombudsman - they should NOT be allowed to be in business

Reviewer Update
So I heard from a very nice gentleman from the Vodacom Hellopeter response team this morning - they unfortunately cannot assist but he stated that a manager from Vodacom Insurance would phone me today - well Alas its almost 17h00 and no call which means my complaint won't be attended to until Monday which equates to no cell phone for the weekend (another 2 days) - what am I paying R255 a month for? NON existing client service. Question Vodacom You want R4600 from me for betterment for an iPhone 13 and are willing to settle R8700 odd for my lost 11 which would mean the 13 cost is R13300 but on your website you are selling the 13 for R9700 odd!!!!! according to simples Maths that means you are trying to charge me and extra R3600 odd for the Fun of it, or is this all part of your *****ulant insurance ****??
