Fed up with Vodacom

On the 4th of June, I went into N1 City Vodacom to cancel my account and put it on pay as you go.

Reason for this is I had a top up 625 and I was paying R900 per month, only to realize that they didn't cancel my (data contract) that was cancelled a year before at Canal Walk Vodacom.

So I went to cancel the contract and put the number on prepaid. When the end of the month came instead of swapping to prepaid someone from Vodacom contacted me to tell me my account was in areas and I owe R900. I explained to the person on the phone that I cancelled my contract, went back to N1 City to ask why it was not cancelled, Suzanne at N1 City then gave me proof that they did cancelled it and so the back and forth to N1 City for the last 5 months started. This is my business number that I've had for the last 15 years gone with no answers. I phoned customer care and they told me my number doesn't exist.

According the Vodacom headoffice I am still liable for R2718 this accumulated while firstly the contract was cancelled (so how can I owe money after I settled and closed my account)

The number is still gone and nobody can tell me what to do . The worse part of this is that they *******ly deducted the above amount off of my bank account, when I no longer have a debit order account with them. I'm so frustrated with this whole situation as Vodacoms different departments has no clue what the other one does. Why are they not communicating with one another.

Why must an innocent customer be held liable for corporate errors ...this is suppose to be a big corporation with educated people working for them. Suzanne has been the only one trying to help me. I had no luck with anyone contacting me after they say they will call you back yet nobody ever does.

I've probably lost thousands from not having this number working. Why is Vodacom not canceling my contracts??? Why must I now be liable for this money when it's been accumulated on a number that I cancelled to be put on prepaid, a number that now doesn't exist . They just don't give a damn about you and your lively hood!!! FED UP. COM
