Faulty Phone & Poor Support from Vodacom Nigel
We upgraded at Vodacom Nigel around August -September last year and took two Samsung deals. In December one of the phones' screens went completely black. We took it end December in, and after two days, they told us it was “fixed” — not by sending it in, but by connecting it to a computer and charging us for the service.
A few months later, the same issue happened again — black screen, but the phone still worked in the background (you could hear it ring and charge). I took it back, and the same staff member plugged it into the computer, got the screen working again, but couldn’t properly explain what he did. He blamed it on software updates, which doesn’t make sense — the phone updates automatically, and the second phone (same model, same deal) has had no issues.
It feels like they are avoiding proper repairs until the warranty runs out. This phone is clearly faulty, and I’m still paying for something that doesn’t work properly. In my line of work, I need a reliable device — not one that randomly stops working with no proper solution.
Very disappointed with the lack of accountability and support from Vodacom Nigel.
