Faulty phone and bad customer service
I had bought a phone at the Vodacom Vincent Store on the 16 June 2022 on contract. Two weeks into having the phone it would randomly switch off and not switch on. Being concerned I called the store reporting what was happening of which I was told to reboot the phone by pressing the volume button and start button perhaps the phone needs rebooting , they said. Another 2 weeks lapsed and the phone did the same thing but now two times in a row with the second time, the phone not wanting to switch on again. I than took the phone to the store in Vincent to report what was happening of which they took the phone in on the 19TH July 2022 . On the 20th July I received an sms reporting that the Job was done. I called to enquire if it had really gone in for repairs as I had bought it in the previous day and already it was back of which they reported to me that it had been a software problem and the phone was now fine. On the 23rd July I went and collected the phone. Last week the phone started to give me the same problem of which I called to enquire if I could not bring it in again at the Vodacom in King Williams town as I live closer that side of which they said I could. At the King Williams Town Branch I was told that it is the Vincent Branch that deals with Repairs. Today in the morning, 13 August, I called the Vincent Branch once again trying to report this problem explaining that the phone is giving me troubles and I am not residing in East London and wanted to confirm if I would receive help if I go to the store of which Mr Jennings told me he could not assist me in the nature of which I was requesting assistance and gave me the number for Vodacom customer care. Upon calling Vodacom and providing them with a Job number I than discovered the phone was never booked in. I went to the store and enquired with the gentleman who booked the phone in the first time, Mr Schoeman and it turns out that the Job number does not even appear on their computers. He than went on to tell me that the reason for that was because the phones Mother board was changed. I than requested a new phone as the phone is clearly faulty if it is still having the same problem though the Mother board was changed. Mr Schoeman than refused cancelling my contract as I told them if they intended to give me the same phone again I do not want it as is if the phone is giving me problems not even 8 weeks into having it than its fate was not positive and I have a contract that I am paying for so it isn't worthwhile and is an inconvenience as I am finding myself without a phone.
I would now like to find out with whom I can lodge this complaint with as when I tried to get a number or email they gave me a run around and my concern is this is a contract that I am paying for ,for a phone that is not working properly.
