Faulty new phone

Good day,

I am writing to you out of desperation as I do not get satisfactory response from Vodacom is South Africa who are marketing your procuct.

On 29 April 2022 I renewed my cell phone contract with Vodacom in Vredenburg Mall in Western Cape , South Africa and received a Samsung Galaxy A33. Within the first seven days I encountered problems. The screen flickered intermittently and horizontal black lines appeared on the screen. In some cases the phone would shut down and restart and in other cases the screen would freeze.

On 13 May 2022 I took the phone for repairs at the retailer that supp**** the phone to me. They could not offer me another phone on loan as they did not have stock (as per their response) which forced me to buy another phone to help me out in the meantime. They then sent the phone to Cape Town for repairs and later informed me it was now in Johannesburg.

On 1 June 2022 the informed me the phone was repaired and ready for collection. I attach the Job no for your convenience. I collected it 3 June 2022. The very same day the phone did exactly what id did before the repairs.

I phoned Vodacom today and they assured me that there is a 2 month guarantee on repairs forgetting there is a 2 year guarantee on the product as it was supp**** to me as a new product.

I have supported Samsung tremendously by buying 3 phones this month and cannot understand that the retailer selling your product is unable to repair a faulty cell phone. When a phone is faulty and they cannot repair it it surely justified that I am entitled to a brand new replacement phone.

I trust that you will be able to assist via Vodacom in this regards as the only answer they give me is: Bring the phone, we will look at it.

Please help.

Kind regards

Renette Swart South Africa ***
