Farewell Vodacom/Mondo
I used to love being able to tell my friends that the best service provider is Vodacom. Not any more. Please understand that I have currently 3 contracts with Vodacom. I have been a user of the network since the beginning. My first sim card was Vadacom and that was in the middle of the '90's! I even have Life Insurance with Vodacom! Now, after a terrible experience with one of their, can I call it subsidiary companies, MONDO, I am waiting anxiously to cancel all my contracts one by one. Well, actually I tried to cancel my contract but was told numerous times not to and that they would sort out my problem. Sad to say, I actually asked how much I should pay to buy myself out of the 2 year contract and still they refuse to give me a number!!! I am currently paying for a device on one of my contracts. Stated on the account as a Handset Installment! I never received a handset, only a sim card with a piece of paper from "We Grow" I still do not know what we are growing! No one can tell me and as I disposed of the unnecessary piece of trash (apparently there was an activation code on that no-one can seem to give me again and I never activated) I am stuck with paying R46,96 plus VAT each month for two years just for the fun of it!! I can almost not believe I actually agreed to the contract as I always ask for the same uChoose Flexi 125 Line as it works for me, but here is the thing! I lodged a complaint. Mondo sent a message that I was wrong and had to pay. THEY listened to our conversation and I actually said I wanted what they offered! I asked if I could also get the voice recording. I am, after all, getting older and could have said yes where I was supposed to say no. You know how theses telemarketers talk. The lines are always bad and they talk so fast you can only remember the hallo and goodbuy at the end! But no! I am not allowed the transcripts. I need to go to a Vodacom outlet and get one of the agents to phone them. They will then send the transcripts to that person and I can listen to it in the shop. Now, anyone that has had the experience of going into one of these shops (that is, if the line is not a mile long and you wait away your lifetime to get in) will know that you do not ask complicated questions. You end up going round and round in circles, leaving as frustrated as you entered! So...... the long and the short of it is... I will wait! And I will pay!! For something that was not activated and that I do not know what the use is for. Just like all other South Africans, forced into this kind of situations with big companies, I will "roll over and play dead". That is, until my contracts expire. They will not be renewed, truly sorry to say. Good buy to a 20 plus year relationship. It feels like I am planning to divorce! Sorry Callen, Iyanda, Zindle, Letando, Marnell and all the other Vodacom consultants I tried to reason with and told me they would fix everything. It is so broken, it cannot be fixed! It is me, not you! If there is another service provider out there that would like a customer that ALWAYS pay on time and that is a very low maintenance client (I only call when I cannot figure something out on my own) please feel free to contact me. It seems I am in the market for a new Service Provider. Thanks for the change Mondo! Maybe it was about time!!
