I would like to find out where vodacom has suddenly got an amount that I apparently owe them for an account that hasn't existed for the last 11 years. I went onto my Transunion profile to query my account only to see a Vodacom outstanding balance for a debt which has been extinguished by prescription(if the so called debt ever existed). I have not acknowledged the debt in the past 11 consecutive years, either in writing or verbally, not made any payment towards the outstanding amount, nor have I promised to pay. No summons has been issued within the last 11 years. They are in contravention of the NCA Act 34 from 2005 which states that no person may continue collection or re-activation of such prescribed debt.
Upon emailing vodacom and getting a call from one of your *****s stating I will pay and she can not help me... She can't give me any info whatsoever regarding the account. She just tells me give me a paid up letter or go to the branch that I opened it at. (PS law states I only need to keep a paid up letter for 5 years and your useless worker can't even tell me what branch it is so how must I know)... she still has the audacity to phone my work company back and speak to my manager stating that I spoke to her rudely... what does my work have to do with this. She had no interest in helping me and I do not appreciate the service or being falsely accused. Is vodacom so desperate for money that they looking to pull ******* transactions now and falsely accuse people? Please can someone get back to me regarding this matter.
