False Promises and Disgusting Service when Choosing Vodacom as Your Service Provider

Was due for an upgrade about 2 months ago. I phoned into the Upgrades department and was greeted by a friendly chap named Percy. I enquired about how much the remaining costs were on my contract at the time if I were to pay up and end the contract with Vodacom. Percy asked me why to which I simply and honestly rep****, 'Your data rates are too expensive, I'm thinking of going to Cell C.'

At the time Vodacom and Cell C had the iPhone SE on special.

However, I had decided to switch to Cell C to which Percy then said if I stayed with Vodacom they would give me an extra gig of data every month for the duration of the contract. I thought 1,2gb is still quite a low amount but better than 200mb, plus then I wouldn't need to sim swap and all those other technicalities that sometimes arise when switching networks. I decided to stay with Vodacom also with the assurance that my contract would be a fixed rate.

From the agreement it has been nothing but an exhausting waste of time and a shame to be associated with Vodacom:

First, my micro sim wasn't delivered with the phone so I had to go in store and buy one. Granted, Vodacom did refund me with R100-00 airtime there but I would never have had to waste almost 2 hours of my day waiting for someone to assist me for what was Vodacom's mess up in the first place.

Next, my debit amount off my account equalled to more than what was promised - I then had to phone in again, to be put on hold for over 45 minutes, and try sort this out. The agent informed me it was because of the delivery charge of the phone and that the following months my contract would be R408,50 including my extra free gig of footage. Her name is Lydia Khopu and reference for that call is ********** 46

This month my debit was R598,50 to which I have also not received my monthly 1,2gb of data nor is there any record showing apparently even though I spoke with Percy twice, then Lydia for the third time (including calls to other agents between that)

It is now the 9th of December and I still have no data from Vodacom - I have had to keep buying airtime and converting it yet I am being charged almost R600 a month for a contract that has frankly become utter bull****. I have queried up until today, asked your call centre, your Facebook admin etc - my 'query has been escalated' - this was Monday and then again Tuesday and Wednesday...it's now FRIDAY 9TH DECEMBER - How long is this going to take to sort out? You do realise that every day that goes by on your side that this is just another cost added to mine for something that was promised to me by Vodacom and is not happening, as well as something I am paying for on a contractual basis??

I'm sorry but I'm not letting this go. I was promised a meagre 1,2gb per month and that's the least I am expecting back for all this trouble, let alone the fact that I still have no data 9 days into the new month.

Not good enough.!!

All that is happening and has happened since the 1st of December is that my query has been 'escalated'. I think I must have at least 4 reference numbers.

It's now another weekend arriving where your people will not be working and thus another 2 days of my own data purchases I have to make.
