False Information given at time of Upgrade

To Whom It May Concern

I contacted Vodacom in January this year to cancel my ex-husband's contract which was coming up for renewal. I was then advised by the consultant that my number and my son's number is eligible for an upgrade. I advised the consultant that our current handset fees only expire in May/June and that I am not in a financial position to pay two handset fees. I was advised by said consultant that I could do a sim only upgrade and that when I am ready to add a handset (after 6 weeks) I could just call in and add the handset. I explained to your consultant that I was currently under debt review and they advised that it would not be a problem as I will just be adding a handset once my current handset is paid up.

My son's cellphone was ****** and I needed to get him a phone. I then called in and was advised that I cannot just add a handset and that I would need to be upgraded to a new contract. The current contract we are on is the RED 1.4GB 100min TopUp Plan which totals approximately ±R990ea per month. When the consultant tried to add a handset, he was not able to. The system only allowed the consultant to upgrade to a new contract. The only contracts on offer to me due to my debt review is one where they are offering 7gb or 14gb a month for 48 months at a ridiculous installment of between ±R1 400pm to R1 600pm.

I checked online and for the newest Iphone 16 on the RED 1.4GB 100min TopUp Plan for 36 months is going for R969, why am I not able to get that deal? Why am I being penalized for being under debt review? Why was I given false information when I called in January this year?

I have been a customer with Vodacom for over 10 years. I have 3 contracts with Vodacom and I have a fibre line and my monthly bill totals ±R3 600 per month. Why am I being penalized after being a loyal customer, surely the system can be overridden and handset can be added, alternatively I should be able to be offered the deal for R969 for the Iphone 16 on my current contract?

I do not want a higher package with more data as I have fibre at home and do not need more data. If i cannot be assisted I would like the upgrade done in January to be reversed and I will cancel the contracts when they expire in May 2025.
