a while back my husbands cellphone was ****** and he went to Vodacom they gave him what they call a ***gy back contract so that he could get a phone. This contract costs a fortune every month and was not explained to us when he took it out. They never gave him a sim card so we didn't even know that we were getting airtime every month. We were told that the contract would expire in December 2018. When we wanted to cancel the contract we were told only the end on January 2019. We have been receiving phone calls regularly asking if we are continuing with the contract and every time we have said that we want to cancel. Today we went to the Vodacom branch at the East Rand Mall to find out it now only expires the end of March 2019. We have also found out that the data package that we had that was supposed to be cancelled has actually been upgraded by someone that phoned about it when we said we want to cancel. I am not prepared to listen to phone calls all correspondence with us will now be on email as obviously what you say on the phone gets interpreted by Vodacom as "Yes I want to extend my contract" and don't know the meaning of the word "Cancel".
