False Advertising - "7 day out the box return"

The so-call 'out the box return' is sold as a 7-day return policy. This is false. I made my purchase of a new phone on a Friday afternoon. It then became faulty on the following Thursday night. I went in to the Vodacom Shop on Friday morning to report this and claim on the return policy. However, upon arrival I was informed that I was no longer in my 7 days as the first day is the day you purchase the phone. And so, I could not make the return. What I understand from '7 days' is 168 hours. So I should not lose out a whole day of my return policy due to the fact that I bought my phone in the afternoon. Vodacom should stop advertising the policy as 7 days if that is not true. Call it out of the box and leave it as that. If it's 7 days, it should be 168 hours. So if I bought my phone on Friday afternoon, and then following Thursday night it becomes faulty, I should be able to return it on the Friday morning.
