False advertising

To me it seems that Vodacom has already made too much money and do not regard customer service important anymore. They seem to forget where that money comes from? Last week I did an online upgrade and received my confirmation email that also stated that my phone is on its way.

A week after that (delivery should be 2 -5 days according to them), I was still waiting for my phone. I called the online customer service department and I was informed that there was an internal application error. Upon my enquiry, the consultant said that they did not have that specific model in stock anymore and won't be getting it in anymore. This is a phone that is STILL being promoted on various deal packages, on their online shop as well as other social platforms like Facebook etc. Seems to false advertising to me.

I phoned them again to enquire about this, and also tried via their Facebook messenger. Their response was sorry, that they can give me one of the lowest ranged (specs) phones from that make/brand.

Why would I want to downgrade, when in fact I want to upgrade?? It seems to me that they use this strategy to get rid of the surplus low ranged phones, thereby making money in the same process.

So to date, no proper feedback except a sorry. No corrective action. Communication from their side also just dried up. I reckon that my scenario has been swept under the rug with a lot of other people's complaints.
