False advertising
My name is Nicolette Dirk and about two weeks ago I purchased a Samsung S6 32 flat at your Vodacom Repairs store in Tygervalley centre and was told I would receive a 1 GB data free for the next three months. On not receiving the data I went back to the Tygervalley store on 24 April where I was put on a phone with a data consultant Mnathi who said since I bought the phone mid-month I only qualified for the pro-rata amount of 600MB. The consultant at the store was as shocked as I was as she was not aware about this when she sold me the phone. I don't hold the consultant responsible as she assured me they had were not told by head office. What annoys me is Vodacom's shameless false advertising luring customers with the promise of free data. Had I been informed about the pro-rata I would have used my common sense to buy the phone at the beginning of the month and get the full data option. All the consultants confirmed that this was an unfair practice so I would like someone senior from Vodacom's head office to explain how this will be corrected as know that I am entitled to the full three month data.I am a writer for the Cape Times and I would hate to write a story about this
