Fales information costing me money

I visited the Vodacom shop in the East Rand Mall on the 13th of June and was assisted by a lady named Mariann.

As I have a few contacts on my name I requested her to check if any are due for cancellation or upgrade. She named one that was on Data and as I dont make use of that specific sim I requested her to cancel than one and rather use a number that I do use on pre paid for a data and call contract. I was thinking budget wise as I wont be able to afford an additional contract therefore replacing the one contract with another.

She instructed me to call *** when I get time and just ask them to cancel the contract and Vodacom will immediately do so.

So as I got to the office I called the above number and was told that the sim I needed to cancel was only due for cancellation in 3 months time.

Vodacom please explain why you would have people working for you that gives customers false information? This is very unprofessional and I am now required to pay for an existing data sim that I was told was due for cancellation as well as a new contract.

I have been with Vodacom for many years and for the first time ever I feel like this is now just becoming a money making story. Have I been given the correct information I would have rather waited the extra 3 months and then only taken out the new contract.

Vodacom will now smile on my account for the next 3 months and I just have to pay the bill for them having untrained people. Or did she not care because all she saw was another sale walking through the door?

I want this handled please. I'm happy to deliver that extra data sim to her and Vodacom can debit her account and see if she still smiles at the end of the next three months.
