Failure to trace listed account

<p>I took a contract for a cell phone with vodacom, and i lost my job and could not pay, the account was handed over to a debt collectors, and i made arrangemet with them to pay, when i called to confirm the banking details, they debt collectors told me that the account was taken back to vodacom, i called and went to the vodacom offices and they informed me that the cell number has been handed over to someone else and they cant trace the previous owner, they have listed my name and i cant get any debt.</p> <p>they have put my life onhold unnecessarily, if the debt has been written off please clear my name, i want to move on with my life.</p>
