Failure to reconnect a cellular line despite multiple attempts and promises

Was travelling overseas and exceeded monetary limit set by vodacom. The line was suspended and when I called in I was informed of the money I needed to pay for reconnection. The same day 6th April 2016 I made a cash payment as requested and I was promised to be reconnected within 5 hours. The following day the 7th April 2016 I called back and I was informed that it was too early in the day and the line has been unblocked and I duly got an SMS at 1810h that day to that effect. Today is the 23rd April 2016 and I have phoned Vodacom everyday almost to resolve the problem to no effect. Every single time I have to explain to a different person my story and the average duration of the call is 40 minutes and they have informed me to switch the phone off and restart it to no avail.

It has been a very frustrating experience. Firstly Vodacom has intentionally removed a e-mail complaint service and there is no way of escalating a complaint if you are not in Midrand Gauteng as there are no walk in centres anywhere else.

Secondly if after 40 minutes the phone gets cut off nobody bothers to call you back, with 3 exceptions a lady and 2 gentlemen.

Thirdly, most of the call centre agents were unhelpful. Even after I have informed them that there have been attempts to unblock the service everyday last 2 weeks they still insist to try it and wait few hours. The next one wants to do exactly the same thing. The supervisors that I have been able to access were also unable to help me. None of them followed up to see if the problem has been resolved.

I still receive SMS, now 14 and counting eveyday at 1810 or 1811h telling me that my account has been unblocked and it still has not.

In desperation I got a friend of a friend of a friend who works at Vodacom to help. The technical people called me a few days ago and promised to solve the problem or escalate it I am still waiting for my service to be restored.

I feel that Vodacom intentionally is creating a wall between itself and its customers. The calls are meant to be recorded for quality control but for an average citizen like me there is no proof of my efforts and I cannot go back to an e-mail and track down my communication with Vodacom easily. What methods are there for quality control at Vodacom.

I am waiting to see what my monthly bill will reflect now that I HAVE NOT HAD ACCESS TO THE SERVICES I PAY FOR FOR 2 WEEKS. I need my service, for which we signed a contact back.

| am terribly disappointed with Vodacom
