Failure to cancel contract despite 4 written requests to do so.

We had a vodacom contract which came to an end on 31 January 2023. As a result, we sent an email to vodacom to cancel the contract. A follow up email was sent to vodacom again in January 2023, requesting confirmation that the contract was cancelled.

In February 2023 and March 2023, we noticed that they were still debiting the account. So in March 2023, we sent a further email asking them to cancel the contract.

In August 2023, we received a letter of demand from an attorney to make payment in respect of the account. We attended to payment and informed the attorney and vodacom to cancel the contract with immediate effect.

In December 2025, we received a statement from Vodacom in respect of the contract which we requested them to cancel in January 2023, March 2023 and August 2023. We have been liaising with Ashwill and sent him all the emails but it appears that vodacom does not want to settle this account and close it. We refuse to pay for a contract which was cancelled in excess of 2 years ago.

The terms of the contract states that 20 business days written notice of termination is to be given - which was comp**** with on 4 occassions.

Should this not be resolved amicably, we will lodge a complaint with ICASA.
