Failed to cancel my contract as per my request
Vodacom I am disappointed to have to submit my grievance on LinkedIn to get your attention, as a former employee who participated in your induction process, which was primarily focused on Customer Care. Upon my departure from Vodacom, I chose to keep my contract as a personal line. The contract was set to expire on April 5, 2023. I contacted you guys as soon as the last week of Feb 2023 to inform you that I wanted the contract terminated, to make avoid similar issues to what i had encountered when transferring my stuff contract to a personal line when leaving the organization. I maintained contact with your agents on an almost daily basis from the final week of February 2023 to the first week of March 2023 to ensure that I did not miss anything. I was notified that a cancellation request had been submitted and that my contract would be terminated at the end of April 2023. The final debit occurred on April 25, 2023, as anticipated. I then realized (toward end May )that my contract was still active even after end April as data and minutes were still being loaded towards. Consequently, I promptly contacted customer care to inform them of the situation. I was informed that the system was down, and as a result, they were unable to take any action. I continued with my life as normal until the end of June, when I received an invoice that indicated I was owing for both May and June. Subsequently, I contacted your organization, and the matter was escalated to a manager in cancellations. Following a two-week investigation of the call recordings, she contacted me to inform me that the issue was indeed theirs, as the agent who handled the call neglected to log the cancellation. She extended an apology and loaded a gift voucher onto the My Vodacom App. After two months, I began receiving calls from attorneys who claimed that I had an account in arrears with Vodacom. To which again I reached out to you guys. Having conducted an additional three to four months of investigation with Akshay, another manager in the cancellations department. Please note, I had to maintain contact with him on an ongoing basis, as he would make promises that he would get back to me, but never did. Eventually, he informed me that he had completed his investigations(after four months) and had also determined that the problem was at their end. Then, he promised to contact the accounts department to resolve this matter. Guess what, I continued to receive messages/calls from your attorneys two months later, alleging that I owed money. I contacted customer service once more, and they informed me that they have contacted Akshay and he had promised to call me back. When i call, Akshay consistently indicates that he has meetings and will get back to me but never does. My credit record has been impacted by this. Vodacom you have demonstrated that you priorities your own financial interests not customers. Despite adhering to your processes to the letter, I am still subjected to victimization.
