Extremely Poor Service – No Action or Feedback on Fibre Outage

I woke up after midnight to find that my fibre connection was down. I reported the issue first thing in the morning at 08:05, and was told that a service request would be created. However, nothing was done.

I called again at 12:53, was informed that the issue would be escalated, and that someone would get back to me — but once again, no response. I called later to follow up and was told that there was no record of my earlier interactions, and that the ticket had not been sent to the technical department.

When I asked to have the issue escalated or to speak to someone higher, the agent refused and eventually ended the call.

This level of service is completely unacceptable. I have had no updates, no proper escalation, and no assistance despite multiple calls and clear communication of the issue. The lack of accountability and follow-through from Vodacom is highly disappointing, especially for a fibre outage that affects daily connectivity.

Thank you for the response, but as of today, I still have no fibre connection and no one from Vodacom has contacted me, despite your assurance that a consultant would reach out “in due course.”

This ongoing silence and lack of progress are unacceptable. I’ve had to purchase additional Vodacom mobile data just to stay connected — and even that service has been unstable and unreliable.

I would appreciate urgent feedback and a concrete update on when my fibre will be restored. Please also confirm whether Vodacom intends to compensate customers for the downtime and additional data expenses incurred due to this service failure.

It’s now been over 65 hours since my fibre went down, and I still haven’t received any update or contact from a technician.

I’ve called the Vodacom contact centre multiple times and spoken to Tumi, Dimpho, Vatiswa, and Itumeleng — each one said the issue was “escalated,” yet there has been no progress at all.

I also sent several emails to Vodacom’s support addresses, but no response.

I’ve already spent R149 on mobile data just to stay connected for work and even had to do meetings from cafés. This is not sustainable, and the lack of communication from Vodacom is unacceptable.

I urgently need a technician to be dispatched and compensation for the downtime and extra costs.
