Extremely Poor Service and Communication From Polokwane Repair Center
My phone recently stopped working. It didn't charge or turn on anymore when I woke up one morning. I bought it 6 months prior at a Vodacom retail store. After Arriving at the store I was informed that I needed my ID to send the phone for repairs which I didn't happen to have with me. After returning with my ID I was then told I needed to send my charger with my phone too. Although I informed them that I tried charging my phone with my spare charger and a friend's charger and it still didn't work. Other phones charged with my charger with no problems. I left the store again and returned with my charger. I proceeded to give them my ID and charger and fill in the paperwork to which I was told my ID wasn't necessary since I don't have insurance on my phone. The 3rd attendant was very helpful even though when I was there the system was offline and she couldn't complete all the paperwork. She took my information and told me she will enter it as soon as the system is back online. They had to send it to the service center in the nearest city which is 70 km from the retail store.
One week later I got an sms that said my phone was received and later I got a quote for Roughly R 1,470. I paid it the following day and sent the proof of payment to the email they provided and and the whatsapp number. After numerous calls they confirmed that they received the Proof of Payment.
Two days later I received another sms which contained a second quote which was roughly R 3,000 . I went to the retail store the following day and asked a consultant to call the Repair center and ask what was going on. They concluded that upon my phones arrival at the center they only quoted me on my rear glass cover which was cracked and nothing else. They didn't do a full diagnosis on the phone's problems just what was visible and a few days later realized the phone wasn't turning on and tried to cover it up by sending a second quote with all the damages quoted on.
I refused the amount they quoted since it was more than half of what the phone is worth and asked for my phone back and a refund. I filled the paperwork and was told my phone would be back in 2 - 3 days and the payment would take 7 days. The consultant sent all my papers and proof of payment, she then called the Repair Center to ask them if they received it ,to which they rep**** yes.
I went to the retail store after 7 days and followed up on the situation and was told to be patient and wait for their call. 12 days later I received a call that my phone was received by the retail store, yet still no payment has been received. The consultant offered to call the Repair Center and follow up and would call me with their answer. She called me the same day (Today) and said that they claim that they never received a proof of payment.
On top of it all when my phone was sent to the center my front screen was in perfect condition , when I received it it was scratched.
Overall terrible service and communication from the Repair center In Polokwane. I don't know when I will get my refund and I feel as if I am being ****med.
