EXTREMELY POOR AFTERSALES SERVICE!!
FORMAL COMPLAINT – VODACOM'S POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY AND FAILURE TO ENSURE DELIVERY
I wish to formally express my extreme dissatisfaction with the manner in which Vodacom has handled my order and the subsequent delivery issues.
While RAM Couriers has certainly contributed to this unpleasant experience, I must emphasise that my relationship and contractual agreement are with Vodacom, not RAM. I am a Vodacom customer, and I expect Vodacom to take ownership of the entire customer experience, including ensuring that products ordered through your platform are successfully delivered.
What I find particularly unacceptable is that Vodacom has not once proactively contacted me to establish whether I received my package or to determine whether the delivery issues had been resolved.
To make matters worse, the incorrect delivery address was initially captured by Vodacom. Despite contacting your team on the very same day to report the error, the necessary correction was only made two days later. Throughout this entire process, I have had to repeatedly initiate contact and follow up myself, rather than receiving the basic courtesy of being kept informed.
At no point has anyone from Vodacom taken the initiative to follow up with RAM, apply pressure or ensure that my parcel is delivered within a reasonable timeframe. Instead, I have been left to deal with the courier directly, constantly chasing updates and trying to resolve an issue that should never have become my responsibility in the first place.
It has now been an entire week of unnecessary delays, despite the phone having arrived in Cape Town. I find it extremely difficult to understand how a delivery can be allowed to drag on for this long without any meaningful intervention from the service provider.
What makes this situation even more concerning is that my Vodacom contract has not even commenced, and I am already experiencing serious after-sales service issues. This is certainly not the impression or level of service I expected when entering into an agreement with Vodacom.
Quite frankly, I am beginning to question whether I made the right decision by proceeding with this deal. It is extremely disappointing to feel that once a customer has signed an agreement, the urgency and willingness to assist simply disappear.
I am also still waiting for a senior representative or manager to contact me, as previously requested. The complete lack of follow-through is unacceptable and only reinforces my concerns about the level of customer service being offered.
It genuinely feels as though consultants are trained to pass customers from one department to another rather than take ownership, provide solutions and resolve matters efficiently.
I would like Vodacom to address the following:
Why was my delivery address incorrectly captured in the first place?
Why did it take two days to correct an error that was reported immediately?
Why has Vodacom not proactively followed up with RAM to ensure successful delivery?
Why has nobody from Vodacom contacted me to establish whether I have received my order?
Why am I still waiting for a senior representative to contact me despite specifically requesting management intervention?
What is Vodacom prepared to do to restore my confidence in this agreement and its customer service?
I did not enter into a contractual agreement with Vodacom to spend an entire week chasing a phone delivery, dealing with courier complications and repeatedly contacting consultants for basic updates.
This is not the customer experience I signed up for, nor is it the standard of service I associate with a company of Vodacom's standing.
I expect this complaint to be escalated to senior management, with a proper explanation and a meaningful resolution. I also expect someone in a position of authority to contact me directly rather than having another consultant simply acknowledge the complaint without taking any action.
At this stage, I am seriously reconsidering my decision to proceed with this agreement. A customer's experience should not begin with frustration, disappointment and a complete lack of accountability.
Vodacom needs to understand that customer service does not end when a contract is signed. In fact, that is where the responsibility to deliver on your promises begins.
