Extremely Disappointed – Poor Service, No Communication, and Extra Charges

I am beyond disappointed with Vodacom’s service. I had a 36-month Wi-Fi contract with them that ended in June 2025. On 8 June 2025, I app**** online for an upgrade to a faster 30Mbps line. Everything seemed fine at first—they confirmed that I would receive a new router and that the new contract would kick in in July. But since then, it's been a frustrating and costly mess.

The delivery (via RAM) never happened because Vodacom gave RAM the Wi-Fi line number as the contact number. Obviously, I cannot receive calls or messages on a Wi-Fi line. I contacted RAM to correct this, but they said only Vodacom could change the contact details. I called Vodacom, and they claimed they updated the number—but nothing changed. RAM tried to deliver again, still using the wrong contact number.

Weeks passed, and I was now moving to Pretoria. I asked Vodacom to update both the delivery address and the contact number. Yet again, RAM attempted delivery to the old address and called the Wi-Fi line. I also requested that Vodacom update my debit order details—they managed to do that, but not the contact or delivery details.

After no communication from Vodacom, I eventually found out the order had been cancelled and returned—only because I called them to follow up. No email, no SMS, no call. Nothing. I was ready to commit to another 36-month contract but was kept in the dark.

In desperation, I went into a Vodacom store to try to restart the process. Despite this being their mistake, I was charged R150 to activate the line, and I still won’t be able to use the new Wi-Fi immediately—I have to continue using the slow 10Mbps line for another month.

To top it all off, I’ve been charged an extra R300 this month due to all these delays and errors. For a company that prides itself on communication, this experience was anything but that.

This whole process has been stressful, expensive, and disappointing. It’s shocking how such a large company can fail so badly at simple tasks like updating contact details and communicating with customers.

Vodacom, you’ve truly let me down.
